How we Support Our Nurses
At 1st Call Temp Healthcare we understand how the prospect of revalidation can be daunting and time-consuming, we want to help our Nurses and we’re here to support you as much as can.
What is Revalidation?
Since April 2016, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) set out requirements for nurses to demonstrate that they are still fit for practice, to ensure that all nurses and midwives practice both safely and effectively. The revalidation process takes place once every three years, and all Nurses and Midwives must meet this requirement to maintain their registration with the NMC. Revalidation documents can be submitted online via your NMC online account, you can set this up via the NMC. (The NMC outlines requirements for revalidation and has further information about the process).
What evidence is required to Revalidate?
The revalidation process sets out Nurses looking to qualify must be able to provide evidence of professional development along with 450 hours of practice. Additionally, they must submit five pieces of feedback from colleagues and patients, reflecting on each one.
To support our nurses, we offer friendly advice and guidance throughout the entire process. We provide our Nurses with a complementary revalidation folder to utilise as a guide, allowing them to enter their details, gather evidence and confirm that each requirement has been. We support our Nurses through each requirement and offer clear instructions, to help you understand exactly what is required.
Our dedicated revalidation champions provide tools to allow you to obtain feedback and will be available to work on additional surveys and reviews for practice-related feedback. They’ll then be able to sign off on confirmation.
